Privacy Notice
Last updated July 26, 2026
This notice explains how Hardware GOATs ("we", "us"), operating the Hardware GOATs website, handles personal data. We are the data controller for the personal data described here — we decide what data is collected and why.
What we collect and why
- Account data — your name, email address and profile picture, received from Google when you sign in. Used to create and secure your account and to identify you in the app. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Membership data — your subscription status, plan, billing period dates and the payment provider's customer and subscription identifiers. Used to give you the member features you paid for. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Support messages — anything you send us by email. Used to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in supporting customers.
- Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser information, and server logs. Used for security, fraud prevention, debugging and improving the product. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable service.
Card and billing details are collected and processed by Paddle, not by us. We never see or store your payment card information.
Who we share data with
- Service providers and subprocessors — our hosting, database and authentication providers, which store account and membership data on our behalf.
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of the product, subscription management, payment processing, tax compliance and invoicing.
- Professional advisers such as legal and accounting advisers, where needed.
- Authorities, where we are required to disclose by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Retention
We keep account and membership data for as long as your account is active, and for up to seven years after it closes where we need it for tax, accounting and legal records. Support messages are kept for up to two years. Technical logs are kept for a short period, typically under 90 days. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority. Email hardwaregoats@gmail.com to exercise any of these; we respond within one month.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, row-level access controls in our database, and restricted administrative access.
Cookies and local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, to remember your light/dark theme preference, and to allow the payment provider to complete checkout securely.
Non-members may see ads served by Google (AdSense). Google may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver relevant ads and measure their performance. You can manage these choices through the cookie banner on the site or via Google's Ads Settings.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies outside of the Google ad serving described above.
